Basic Training:
Training as Toolmaker with Master Craftsman Diploma
HTL (Higher Technical Institute) Precision Engineering, Automation Engineering
Scope of Responsibility: (the term staff refers here to female as well as male employees)
Part-process owner: R-02-05 construction and production of tools
R-03-07 Maintenance of moulding and die-cut tools
(see function description part-process owner)
Achieving agreed process and departmental targets
Staff training and motivation within the department to be managed
Ensuring that staff take part in and finish all legally required training
(e.g. workplace safety, safety engineering, protection of the environment, fire prevention)
Investment planning for machines in cooperation with the Engineering Department
Economical and on-time production of tools and tool components according to production orders and the provided documentation (part drawing, content of the work package, order specifications,...) whilst complying to legal regulations
Maintenance of processing machines according to the maintenance schedule and manufacturer’s instructions
Maintenance/repair of tools and production of spare parts for moulding and die-cut tools
Scope of Authority:
Selecting staff within the department in coordination with the Engineering Management, HR Department and the managing body of the company
Authorising holiday requests and dealing with issues relating to working hours (over-time, comp time,...)
Termination of employment with prior information to the Engineering Management and in agreement with the managing body of the company as well as in coordination with the HR Department
Approval of order requisitions in accordance with PB-S-02-01 Procurement (currently ?3.600,--)
Stopping of any ongoing works in the toolmaking department if legal regulations are not adhered to
Assisting in the approval of machines and plants (new purchases)
Tasks:
Managerial Responsibilities:
Management of staff (e.g. agreeing targets, tracking progress of target achievements, carrying out staff appraisals, promote staff development)
Planning and managing human and material resources within the department
Based on the company’s objectives, breaking targets down into departmental and process targets
Creating and updating job descriptions for the assigned employees
Assisting in the assessment of the fair remuneration of employees according to performance
Continuously improving efficiency and effectiveness of the department as well as the assigned processes
Specific Tasks:
Contacting representatives and suppliers with regard to machine procurement, periphery, etc.
Maintaining, ensuring and improving the level of quality whilst taking all economical aspects into consideration
Creating investment proposals and general valuation adjustments
Evaluating / recording of effort data for costing, tool calculations and re-calculations
Creating specifications for the purchase of new machinery CIP, continuous development of the department as well as improving its contribution to the company
Cooperation with other sites / departments / Pollmann plant locations (e.g. cross-departmental teams, project management, production,...)
Assistance in finding solutions for complex/critical tasks in the construction of tools
Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of the management system
